The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies


I know it's bold to claim "the best" but they are honestly the best I've ever made.  Mike agreed, my coworkers agreed, and I agreed, so there you have it- the consensus is in!  It's probably because this is Ina Garten's recipe and we know her recipes don't disappoint.


Recipe makes 3-4 dozen depending on what size you drop the dough.

INGREDIENTS
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat the oven to 350┬║ F.
  2. Using your KitchenAid with the paddle attachment, cream the butter and both sugars until consistency is light and fluffy.  Add the vanilla, then the eggs, one at a time, and mix well.
  3. Sift together the flour and baking soda and add to the butter mixture with the mixer on low speed, mixing only until combined.  Fold in the chocolate.
  4. Place dough in the fridge to chill for 10 minutes.
  5. Drop the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.  Place dough back in the refrigerator each time to chill between baking sessions.
  6. Bake for exactly 12 minutes (the cookies will seem underdone). Remove from the oven and let cool slightly on the pan.  Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.  Enjoy!
