Travel Tuesday: Rehoboth Beach | Fourth of July Weekend Recap

I hope you had a lovely Fourth of July! For the weekend, Mike and I had a getaway to Rehoboth Beach, DE. We arrived at 8:30 AM Saturday, parked our car then parked ourselves on the beach. It was a perfect beach day- 80ยบ F, sunshine and a slight ocean breeze.

The town of Rehoboth was so charming. Hydrangeas adorned the small beach town and the main street was lined with quaint shops and local restaurants.

For lunch, we ate at Pig + Fish. I ordered the fish tacos and Mike ordered one of their lunch specials, Baltimore Style Shrimp- fresh gulf shrimp, old bay Ommegang witte beer, onion and fingerling potatoes. We both enjoyed (our meal and each other's meal!)

After we were done in the sun, we headed about 2 miles south to Dewey Beach, where we were staying. Behind our hotel was Rehoboth Bay. We decided to grab an appetizer and a few drinks at The Lighthouse before dinner and to watch the sun set over the bay on their deck. The setting and views were gorgeous!

On Sunday, it was raining all morning in Rehoboth (that wasn't supposed to happen!) so we decided to come back to NJ early but not before a stop at the Christiana Mall and Cabela's. Plus shopping is tax free in Delaware!

Fourth of July morning, Mike and I ran our first race together! It was humid but such a fun, patriotic race.

Me: Top  |  Shorts  |  Compression Socks  |  Shoes

If you follow me on Snapchat, you'll remember this from the race. I loved the patriotism!

Post race, I laid out by the pool for some R + R in my red, white and blue :) I can't find the exact shop I ordered this from a few years ago, but a similar one can be found here.

Pottery Barn Kitchen Towel  |  Le Creuset Spatula in Translucent  |  Crate and Barrel Potluck Baker  - old (similar here)

We ended the long weekend with a cookout at a friend's house. The [delicious] menu consisted of BBQ, grilled corn on the cob, caprese salad, mac and cheese, plus a few other sides, and strawberry shortcake for dessert. We attempted to walk over to the park to watch the fireworks but ended up turning around since the rain was picking up.

Despite the rain Sunday morning and Monday night, we had a wonderful holiday weekend and made some great memories.
Happy birthday, America!
