Agave Margarita

A margarita is my favorite warm weather cocktail. I came across this recipe in the May 2012 issue of Bon Appétit. What I loved about this particular version was the low sugar content (as opposed to using Triple Sec + Marg Mix). It tasted so refreshing! I hope you enjoy it as much as my girlfriends and I did :)

Yield: This recipe makes one cocktail. (Nutritional Info also found on the recipe link)

  • Kosher salt
  • Half of a lime, juiced +  ¼ for garnish
  • ¼ cup of good quality, clear tequila
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar 
  1. Pour kosher salt into a small dish.
  2. Rub 1 lime slice over half the rim of a glass. Dip rim of glass into salt.
  3. Combine tequila, agave syrup, and juice in a cocktail shaker; fill with ice and shake well.
  4. Strain into prepared glass. Garnish with second lime slice. Enjoy :)
